Entravision's KDTF-LD is currently on air on RF channel 51 with three sub-channels. 36.1 Univision, 36.2 Telefutura, and 36.3 MyTV. There are three stations now interested on moving to channel 25. This channel as well as channel 50 have no full power co-channels in the area. K63EN just filed a displacement application to use channel 25 (BDISDTL-20090630ABO, 15kw, Mount San Miguel). They have a construction permit (CP) for channel 7 (3.0 kw, Mt. Woodson). This station is owned by CIVIC LIGHT, INC.. I've never seen this station on air. If anyone knows anything about their programming feel free to post. http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/getattachment_exh.cgi?exhibit_id=7 67623&formid=346&q_num=5110 KBNT-CA, TV-17, Univision also filed a displacement application to move to channel 25. File BDISDTA-20090611ACQ, 15kw from Mt. Soledad. http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?contex t=25&appn=101317546&formid=401&fac_num=4035 McGraw-Hill Broadcasting, owner of KGTV and KZSD-LP, TV-41 and 10.15, Azteca America, also has a pending "NEW" App for channel 25. File BDCCDTL-20060926ABY, 15kw, Mt. Soledad. I think displacement applications take precedence over "NEW" apps. KSDX-LP, TV-29, Spanish programming has an approved CP to move to channel 9, 0.275kw fron Mt San Miguel. KSDX-LP is currently co-channel with XHTIT-DT, which shows lots of soccer and NFL football at 10 AM during the season. ( usually a different game than the local one ). KZSD-LD also filed a displacement application for channel 39. File BDISDTL-20080801BAR, 15kw, Mt. San Miguel. K61GH is currently using channel 69 analog and channel 9 digital. They have a pending displacement application for channel 50. http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?contex t=25&appn=101317041&formid=346&fac_num=56830 One of my favorites, K35DG (UCSD TV) has a pending displacement app. for channel 11. File BDISDVA-20080804AEL, 0.3 kw, Mt. Soledad. If approved and built then this station would be co-channel with KTTV-DT currently with ERP of 15 kw, and with a request to boost power to 115kw. I hope they find a better allocation. (Message edited by sandog on July 01, 2009) |

That channel 7 on Mt. Woodson will kill KABC-DT for me. I'd like to see ch41,43 and 48 from Mt. Woodson go away to remove the cochannel interference for KLCS-DT, KCBS-DT, and KOCE-DT. Instead of creating three new co-channel stations (7,9,11), why not create one with 3 or 4 subchannels on channel 25 (KGTV-DT's old transmitter). These stations can avoid the co-channel interference, gain greater coverage (viewership), and share the operating costs. Makes a lot more sense to me. |

As far as I know, K63EN was on channel 63 broadcasting from Uptown San Diego with a radius of about 5 miles. I used a portable TV to drive to where the transmitter was and it was showing some kind of Phillipine variety show. This was around 1993-1994, I can't recall the year. I haven't seen the channel since then. Is there any reps from K63EN wishing to jump on into this thread and give us an insight? I've also been updating the TV entries at my website. Trying to get the histories of all of the stations and channels straightened out. There's new a north San Diego, low-vhf, channel 4 LPTV application. http://www.sbe36.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=334&Itemid=1 The same person (Kenneth Fullam) has also applied for two other LPTV's on the same channel. I have not been able to get channel 35 for some time. I am in point loma. Does this mean that channel 11 in los Angeles, which i receive, will overpower channel 35 ( or is that the reason i don't get it anymore. confused jose

I'm receiving K35DG-CA (analog) UCSD-TV from Clairemont. Snowy but visible. UCSD has a pending application for channel 11, but its not approved. Besides KTTV channel 11, and KCOP channel 13 in Los Angeles just completed upgrading their facilities with ERP of 115kw. I think UCSD should flash cut on the same channel 35 instead of ch11 or try to multicast with another station. The government now wants to reclaim 120 Mhz of bandwidth, which probably means that in less than ten years the broadcast band will end with channel 31, and there will be lots of multicasting happening. |

I'm bummed about the KZTC-LP signal. It has ruined my ability to watch KABC and their sub-channels. I wish that there was a way we could make a complaint that would carry some weight. Being from the San Diego area the FCC won't do anything about it. Samsung PN50B650 / Sony KP-57HW40 / Sony KDL-32SL130 / Panasonic TC-26LX20
