The Azteca network in Mexico City is now promoting it's set-top box for analog TVs to receive digital broadcasts (HiTV) and it includes subchannels. Hopefully what this means is that now XETV can carry ThisTV, a movie channel carried over-the-air in many large cities but not currently available in San Diego. Below is an older link to some info on the subject. How about it Gary ?

The thing is, would the cable companies carry it? Since XETV is a Mexican television station, cable companies aren't required to carry it.

I can't really comment except to say that we have no plans to add subchannels at this time.

Televisa (which owns XETV 6) now has a subchannel 57.2 on XHUAA. XHUAASD is 480i and at 8pm had video but no audio. The video was the Vampire Diaries but it only lasted about a minuite and was replaced by the regular stuff that's on XHUAA, still without audio.

I got this on my Zinwell CECB but couldn't get it on my LG chipset CECB.

They don't have the subchannel now and I don't think they'll do anything over the weekend. Incidently, it's on RF22.

After several tries, it appears they got the subchannel (57-2) up and running. But it's showing the same thing as the 1080 feed, what good is that ? Hope they put on something new to the SD/TJ area.

Well, i agree with Joe, what´s the use? At least they should broadcast the live signal from Mexico city on the main channel (57-1) and the 2 hour delayed signal on the sub channel (57-2). Or, broadcast XHGC canal 5 until XHBJ-DT runs their digital transmitter.

Tv Azteca could use (for the moment) a sub channel to broadcast the other channel from Mexico City (XHTVM Proyecto 40).

At last, it appears we have one broadcaster who has realized what was needed in San Diego was a movie channel. Way to go, KSWB !

As of August 24, the person responding to customer inquiries from the KSWB website said there's no go-live date yet for the public.

Any insider information?

The PSIP data on KSWB's SD channel is correct. It labels the channel ThisTV and has current and correct program listing data. So in a sense, they are live already, at least for the PSIP data.
