I guess if that works out they'll figure out some other things they could do from out of town as well. They could certainly cut down on anchors, have a local story anchor, and have out of town anchors who do all the stories that aren't local. |

I'm sure that will be next. It is sad, they can't afford a weatherperson they will never be able to afford HD equipment. |

I think that this is smart. It sounds like there will be a separate set to provide San Diego specific weather not just a re-hash of the LA weather. Who cares where the weather person is located? |

Gee, it sure looked on my TV like ol' Fritz was seated at the desk with the rest of the anchors. Was SignonSanDiego wrong? |

The 11pm KNBC news mentioned that Fritz was out on assignment. I'm guessing he'll be back sucking smog in a few days. KNSD is not the only place where NBC is making cuts. http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/307115-Report_WTVJ_Cutting_Talent_Newsc asts.php |

We'll see if Fritz suddenly stops joining everyone at the anchor desk in a day or two. It will be interesting to see how/if KNSD mentions it. Last night it was as if he had joined the staff permanently. We'll see... |

Fritzy will be on from la LA; and the sets are nearly identical to keep the look and feel the same. Nothing against Fritz ... it just doesn't feel right. |

Starting when? He was at KNSD's studios on Monday and Tuesday. |

Well as of today's Newscasts he is no longer appearing at the desk with the anchors. I think the stints last week were just a stunt to make it look like he will still be local. The weather reports now are just being done on a green screen (so no one can tell where he actually is) with no live interaction with the anchors in San Diego. I would venture to assume he is now back in LA. (Message edited by dtv814 on July 06, 2009) |

Fritz went back to L.A. last Wednesday, and he does some live weather segments, while others are taped. So there is some interaction between the anchors and Fritz. One more thing to add, Pablo Pereira the weekend weather guy at KNBC is now handling KNSD's weekend weather as well. |

KNSD is *STILL* trying to make its viewers think that Fritz is in SD. Just tonight (Wednesday, 7/8) he said, "Here in the Gaslamp District..." He has referred to Carlsbad as "Carlsberg" - on more than one occasion. It's humorous, really. The five day outlook graphics are not nearly as sharp as they were before the tricks began. |
